MAKE-UP MONDAY

Happy Monday all!

The last weekend in May, I did just makeup only for a wedding party. I do not have one single picture of any faces I did because it went SO fast and the girls were running behind to get ready for pictures.

BUT,

One new product that I added to my kit and have fallen in love with is the MAC Strobe Cream.

I applied this to all the girls faces before the makeup application, it added moisture without being oily and brightened them up! If you think about it, what happens normally the night before weddings? There is drinking, staying up late, etc and that dehydrates you.. I loved that it added hydration without their makeup looking oily. Two more bonuses, it's lightweight and absorbs quickly!

Yesterday, I had my maternity pictures done in 93*+ heat and besides me blotting off the sweat and hitting my forehead with my powder brush, my makeup held up pretty dang good!

A whole lot of Hairspray...

Saturday there was a WHOLE lot of hairspray flying thru the air at the salon!
It was my hometowns homecoming and I also had a wedding Saturday before I got started with all the sweet homecoming ladies.

It was a GORGEOUS day here in the South!
My bride was Lisa, who I met at the Bridal/Fashion show, last January. I met her Mom when I found my dress and she remembered I was hair stylist.. Lisa contacted me few months ago and I was available for Saturday!
I've seen some pictures from her wedding photos already and she was STUNNING!

Sarah Beth made it on court so I had the honor of doing her hair and makeup both Friday and Saturday.. beautiful girl and her dresses were gorgeous!

A couple more of my sweet ladies from Saturday!

Love these girls and they are all super sweet and beautiful!
It was such a great Saturday behind the chair even if I did almost run out of hairspray. Ha!

Makeup, Rollers, & Big Hair

Saturday I had the opportunity to do hair and makeup for a photoshoot... my first one ever!
Remember Abby who took our 1 Year Anniversary pictures? Well, she contacted me awhile back to see if I was available for this shoot..which these girls would be able to add these photos to their pageant portfolios. I have no idea about pageant lingo so please forgive me if that is not correctly stated.
Anyways, both girls got a couple of different looks and both were super awesome clients!

I didn't get a lot of pictures of this pretty lady because I had already started hair and makeup.

This last photo was when Brooklyne was nicely telling me that "this is taking too long!" Bahahaha! Her patience with me was great for being 3 years old.

By this time she was O.V.A. it I believe. This was her third look. I wish I could've heard her conversation with Abby right here!

Can't wait to see the final images of these sweet girls! I got a little glimpse of a few on Abby's camera and they were BREATHTAKING!

Definitely something I wouldn't mind doing again!

Sunday Social//Week 86//Favorite Beauty Products

Happy Sunday everyone! It is actually a little warmer here in the South.. Praise the Lord! I have not been able to get warm lately! I will have to admit yesterday I wore my workout pants under cotton yoga pants and a tank top, long sleeve UnderArmor shirt, and my workout pullover on top of that. Oh yes, with a huge scarf. I think by 4PM yesterday afternoon I finally began to warm up some.

It has been awhile linking up with Ashley and Neely but here I am for today's questions on my favorite beauty products!

1. How old were you when you started wearing makeup?

When I turned 13, my Mom started letting me wear powder (just to get rid of the shine on my face), mascara, and maybe even lipgloss. She was pretty strict about what all I had on my face.

2. What are your top 3 favorite beauty products?

In no special order..

Since being introduced to blinc, I have NOT been able to stick to any other but this one. This mascara actually tubes your lashes instead of painting them. There is nothing more irritating for me to have flakes of mascara fall into my contacts. I wear hard contacts and that just makes it even worse. It absolutely does not smudge or run down my face if I get teary eyed. It is a little more expensive but I can cut back on something else because it's worth it for me!

I used to be a CHI junkie and this blows CHI out of the water. I have had this same iron for over two years and it hasn't given me one bit of trouble yet.. knock on wood.. The plates are AWESOME and get the hair so smooth and I love that you can adjust the heat.

My grandmother got me something similar to this a few years ago and I have salvaged every bit of it because whoever made it stopped production. She was even so generous to give me my Mom's because I loved it so much. (My Mom didn't like it) SO for Christmas I was surprised with the above by Mally. It. Is. Awesome. I have never had to battle dark under eye circles but there is just something about this brightener being around the eye that helps brighten me up!! I think it also help reduce the appearance of puffiness. Bonus!

3. What is one makeup product you don't leave home without?

or my new favorite eos. I love that it's organic too!

Coach even picked this up last night, used it himself, and said, "Man you could really eat that stuff!" HA!

4. What is your daily beauty routine?

I always start with my face first.. Mally under eye brightener, eyeshadow base, eyeshadow, eyeliner, foundation, blush.. then off to hair drying, flat iron or curl.. and then I actually put my mascara on last. The way I dry my bangs down I feel like the heat makes my eyelashes straight again (I have to curl them!)

5. What is your favorite hair/makeup product you've discovered in the last year?

You can check that out in this post! I am still doing this and my face feels wonderful!! And I have saved so much $$$ not buying Obaji cleanser and moisturizer.

Who Loves MakeUp.. Besides Me?

Two Saturday's ago, I did makeup for a wedding and what a beautiful day it was for one!
The whole time I was on my way there tho I felt like I was forgetting EVERYTHING because I normally also do hair along with makeup...
But I knew I couldn't be because I spent the night before packing all my goodies into my new case!
I have been needing wanting needing wanting oh who cares a bigger case for a while now, I bit the bullet, ordered one, and it came just in time Friday night!

it's perfect! everything has its place.

I used this company.. lots to choose from!

Makeup can be soooo much fun because you can experiment with colors, trends, try looks you have never worn before, and you can just let your artistic side flow!

Here are a few tips that I used for getting these looks::

Start with the eyes first.
Excess from the brush can fall onto the face and can be SUPER annoying to try and get off your perfect foundation you just created.
My favorite is M.A.C. Wipes to clean up around the eyes.

Do a nude lip when the eyes are super smokey.
There's not SO much color going on and it creates balance.

When creating the 'smokey eye', start in the crease with the lighter shade and then work your way up to that from the lash line with the darker eyeshadow, blending into the crease.
Finish with eyeliner and mascara. If you are going to add lashes, apply mascara to your eyelashes first. This will help the fake lashes to blend in naturally and mascara won't be caked onto them.
