Birthday Party + Lots of Kisses

This past Saturday, Fin and I made our way to Brynn's 4th birthday party. It was a Super Girl theme and at Brynn's request, Donut's were the food of choice. It was SO adorable! Her 4 year pictures were awesome as well.. princess and super girl theme!

It ended up being a little overcast which I thought turned out great because it wasn't smoldering hot like it has been. Finley enjoyed herself as well! I got her suited up in her bathing suit, which everyone had a fit over, and we made our way to the water! She loves the pool, as I thought she would because she really enjoys bath time so much.

She found lots of toys scattered about and a water table that she had a great time splashing in too.

Daddy was out of town, so I always try and send him pictures to keep him updated on Miss Fin. So here she is trying to wave at him.

After playing on the water table and in the pool, we found the pebbles and, well, I guess we could get this child a bag of pebbles for her birthday! She turned into Miss Busy Bee picking the pebbles up, putting them in the first chair, then placing them in the second chair, then back to the first and then she put them back where she found them on the ground. It was hysterical to watch! I think she could've sat here forever.

Love these chunky thighs!! I could just eat her up.

Her new thing is to walk holding only one hand and she can get going pretty fast! I know it shouldn't be too long before she is going to be on her own.

And I know she is mine but this is just too precious not to share... Fin and Brigg's meet again and OH MY GOODNESS Finley would not take her hands off of him! She just LIT UP when Whitney brought him over to us and she just hugged and gave him tons of kisses.
The. Sweetest. Thing. Ever.

We were all cracking up!

Brigg's had to lean in and give her one too!

I know, how many pictures can I post of them smooching? Babies are just precious.

At the car when we were trying to leave, Finley got a little irritated that she wasn't right next to Brigg's. And the kisses just continue!!

I think Brigg's had had enough but Fin was making sure the other gals knew he was hers! ;)

After the pool party, we stopped by to see La La for a little bit!

We had a great time catching up and visiting!

Of course, we had to find some cartoons since Finley found the remote. She had fun with the puppies too! And, I think Walker was trying to protect Finley from Indie at times. At one point, Finley squeeled tho and Walker went running! Ha! I don't think he knew what to think at all!
(Walker is Amber's Boxer and Indie is a Rott mix(?) Sweetest dogs ever!)

From Miss to Mrs

A week ago yesterday, this sweet friend changed her last name!
It was a beautiful wedding and speaking of beautiful, does Bre just not look stunning?
I'm in LOVE with her gown!

Bre did such a great job of getting together all of the decor .. The Friday before, a couple of us from the salon, one of her sisters, and myself, met Bre and helped her get everything set up.

This cake was gorgeous and Shane said it was delicious!

Bre had me in charge of all the chalkboards.. no pressure now! I was a googling machine trying to find the perfect fonts and ideas for all of them.

I love these coke and pepsi bottle holders too.. they were her Dad's.

Hard to see it, but I also wrote everyone's name for the table seating on the windows..

All ready to go! I did her hair and makeup. Such an easy day and she was so laid back!

Hanging out with Bre before as long as we could.

The ceremony was short but it was very sweet and beautiful.

And it was this sweet girl's birthday! She actually had her party yesterday... A couple details from that in my next post!

Bre, your Big Day was absolutely gorgeous and I was so thankful and blessed to be apart of it!
Many blessings to you and your hubby!

Honey Lemon Peppered Chicken

I am all about some easy, fast dinners around the house these days! Especially, since sometimes it's close to 9PM when I start cooking for me and Shane.
This took me probably all of 20-30 mins.

ingredients:

4 boneless chicken breasts
bundle of asparagus
1 C kale
1/2 lemon
Mrs. Dash Salt free Lemon Pepper seasoning
rice vinegar
coconut oil
local honey

I started by cooking the asparagus and kale in coconut oil and rice vinegar (this has become one of my new faves. It is not strong vinegar at all and just adds a really good taste to your veggies. I use this ALL the time!).. remove from the skillet when cooked thru. Add cut up chicken to skillet in coconut oil as well.. add lemon pepper seasoning (I didn't measure how much, just whatever you little heart desires) .. drizzle honey over the chicken.. Just before I put the dish together in a bowl with my veggies I squeezed a little fresh lemon juice over the chicken.

Hubby LOVED it and I even got a "Babe, you have been cooking it up lately!!"

ENJOY!!

Mary Kay Andrews // Afternoon with Awesome Amber

This past Sunday, I met BFF Amber at our hometown public library to see the very talented Mary Kay Andrews!
A couple years ago, the Hopper gals set out on our annual trip, and we were surprised to see her at Seaside Sisters.. we had no idea she was going to be there! You can read more following the link, but I bought Save the Date and it is SO good! I couldn't put it down and I loved that it was set in Savannah. I could almost see a movie playing in my head while I was reading.. just knowing where the streets are and scenery, and her detailing is amazing!

Waiting on MKA to speak before signing... Girl time was WONDERFUL!! I really don't see Amber enough..

She spoke about the setting of her new book The Weekenders, how the book came about, some fun details in the book, and then we were able to ask questions at the end. It was SO interesting!
Did you know her real name is not Mary Kay Andrews? I had no idea!

She is so funny and I think that comes out in her book Save the Date as well. This is the only one I really have to go by.. Sadly, I haven't had an opportunity yet to start her new one but I am looking forward to it!

These are my cousins Wendy and Jaycee.. I got a text that said "I'm behind you" HA! They were actually a little late and were able to speak to MKA before they grabbed a seat. How awesome! Wendy was my MOH and Jaycee was one of my flower girls in our wedding.

I'll have to say that I've never been in our public library since they moved but it was SO nice! Definitley will have to take Finley there when she gets older for story times and such.

Amber and her Mom...

I had to get my MIL her own copy! She was keeping Finley so I could get out..

And my signed, personalized copy!!

HA! Thank you sweet husband! I'll definitely be booking this soon!
