Where I have been....

I know I have been MIA this week and I do hope you accept my apologies.
Last year, Judy's church hosted a festival where people could rent a booth and sell any DIY items... they are having another festival tomorrow! A couple months ago, Connie asked me would I like to join them!
I have had a few things done but this week most of my spare time has gone to finishing up some of my projects.
Here are a few of those things I have been finishing!

Love love love these! I think they would have just the right finishing touch with some hydrangea blooms.

I found these frames at Red Hound Boutique awhile back. Be looking for a tutorial on these beauties!
I know I did them, but I just love the way they turned out!
The baby blue with the chalkboard has much more detail to it... I was just playing around with my camera and couldn't get the lighting down right so I feel like the photo is washed out..

And bring on the mason jars! I may have gone a tad over board.
I had the smaller ones leftover when I attempted Pear Preserves and had the larger ones hanging around the house.
Cute pencil/pen holders? Makeup brush holders?

Amber is joining in on the fun too! We are headed there tonight to get a head start on setting up the booth. Can't wait to see what kind of turn out we have.

Weekending // Around the house

Happy Monday all!
Hope your weekend was a relaxing as mine has been.

Meet India.. Indie for short. This poor puppy had a rough start but is now in safe arms at the Bestie's house. Her daughter Claire has taken full responsibility for this little one. Indie, along with her other brothers and sisters, were dumped off at a church with rubber bands around their necks. REALLY??! As if dumping them off wasn't enough. She has a pretty deep neck wound but the vet says she will heal right up! She doesn't even seemed phased by it and is loving her big brother Walker!

I LOVE seeing the FedEx man coming!
Holy Green Apple Spark you are soooo yummy!

Saturday morning was pedi day for the horses! Trio needs a bath like something fierce.

My in-laws, Amber and I are setting up a booth at Judy's church for a fun festival like fundraiser.
I had to make a run to Michael's for some things and scored on these charms.. $1/charm!!

Here is one I added to this mason jar...

I have also been working on frames I scored at the Red Hound Boutique in Jefferson.
Post to come soon on this one and the others.
They are also going in our booth.

If coyotes weren't enough on the farm we now have snakes. I'll take a king snake over a coyote any day of the week.

I finally let the pups outside off the leash one at a time. Kyli thoroughly enjoyed her time being free.. I tested her a couple of times to see if she would hang around the house but she failed miserably.. Went straight for the pasture looking for trouble.

They have been good hanging around on the back porch with me while I work despite them being stir crazy. Sweet babies.

And, of course, I leave you with a sunset. This was taken last night. Absolutely beautiful. I tried my panoramic on my phone for the first time. I think it did pretty good on this one considering it took me several tries to get one good shot.

PLEASE EXCUSE THE PICTURE....

.... The coyote is no longer going to be able to come after my puppies anymore.
He showed his ugly face last night and Coach was able to take him down...

...in a complete GI Joe, sniper kind of way with the army crawl and everything, as my husband explained. What it is with men and their hunting? He may want to coyote hunt rather than deer hunt from now on! Maybe not... but I think he had fun acting all Royal Marine sniper in a ghillie suit.

He did seem to think this wasn't the same one we saw. I am praying it is because I don't wanna see another one of these again! And I would like to be able for ALL of us to walk outside and be able to enjoy it without having to look over our shoulder the whole time.

Other good news!!
I had two eggs today and more of the pasture has been cleared.
Whoop whoop!

That time Kyli almost got eaten by a coyote

While outside being crafty this past weekend, an unknown animal decided to grace us with its presence. At one point Saturday Mara took off running and barking towards the pasture fence and when I looked up I just saw a greyish blob of something. I didn't get a good look at it because I was too busy running and screaming after Mara to get her rear back to the house.

Thankfully she stopped and came back to me and immediately I put all the pups in the house. I called my SIL and told her what happened. She said she hadn't seen anything lately but her and her friend awhile back had seen a bobcat at the pond. Throughout the day, I kept watch but I never saw it again.
Sunday while outside, I just happened to look up, and there it was again. STILL DIDN'T get a good look at what it may be because it was already halfway into the bushes.

Later on my FIL comes by to drop off the boat and I tell him what I had been seeing. We decided that it may just be a baby deer. A baby deer? Well I want to get a better look! We go walking thru the pasture walk all over the sighting area, look into the briar patch where something had been making den but don't see a thing.
Monday don't see anything.

Yesterday started out just like any normal workday with letting the 3 Amigos outside as soon as I woke up. After taking a look around the premises, I let them outside to do their business. I kept a close watch on them while I fixed myself some toast.. you can see the whole back yard out our kitchen window and back door.. They were all being so good staying close to the house and sunbathing.
And then Miss Nosey Kyli decides she is going to let her little sniffing nose take her out into the pasture. I went to the porch and started calling for her to come back to the house.. which she wasn't responding to me calling her.. she has that selective hearing and she TOTALLY gives me the middle paw and goes about whatever she wants to do.
I realized she was not coming back and thought to myself, you should probably go get your glasses so you can actually see! Got my glasses, grabbed the clicker, since I can't whistle I have been using this as a way to get her back to the house. When she hears the clicks, she knows she is getting a treat., and started making my way out to the yard calling her name and clicking.
I got to about Point A and I think my heart stopped for quite sometime.

Here comes Kyli running with a COYOTE CHASING AFTER HER!!!

I can't even begin to describe how I felt. I was screaming her name over and over and just bolted into a sprint I feel like it was a sprint.. I was probably just running like Pheobe from Friends I felt like my whole body was jello, I couldn't breathe, and I felt like I couldn't get to her fast enough.
I finally reached her at Point D where she came trotting thru the fence to me. TROTTING KYLI??? Why aren't you still in a sprint???!
I scooped her up in my arms we started running back to the house. We, as in me and Sox. She and Mara were still outside and as soon as I started running like a crazy woman they came running after me. The only explanation that I can think of why Sox never saw the coyote was her view was blocked from the apple tree. THANK THE LORD!! Oh and at Point B, my toast was laying on the ground and Miss all-I-ever-wanna-do-is-eat Mara was too busy chowing down. THANK THE LORD!
We all got back into the house safely and unharmed. From the little speaking that I could do I got Coach outside to see this monster. It just stood at the fence, staring us down for a couple minutes like "I dare you to come after me". I couldn't stand still and was talking irrationally. Coach was doing his best to calm me down and he also informed me if I would've stood still it probably would have stayed long enough for him to grab his gun and shoot it.
CALM DOWN??
One of my babies almost got eaten!!

I know we have these types of animals roaming the farm but one has never made hisself at home this close to the house! One of the reasons for this is probably our chickens that aren't too far from where he's been hanging out. Another reason is because the pasture hasn't been cut in some time.
This is what I came home to last night and I was so happy and thankful this was being done!!

Coach told me he made his appearance again when he started his way thru the pasture. He left and came back a little while later and Coach made his way cutting thru his hangout. He still hung around!!! He is DEFINITELY not scared of us.
As it got darker, my SIL came down to the house and while I was just beginning to give her the latest details, he here comes again!!
We got Coach's rifle but it was gone by the time we got back outside.

We got our first egg yesterday after over a week. This explains why they haven't been laying. When they get stressed, for a number of factors, they don't lay.

I am SOOOO THANKFUL things weren't worse than what they could have been yesterday. We definitely had the Lords favor all over us. I thanked Him all day yesterday and still thanking Him today.  Such a scary moment! I have never had that close of an encounter with a wild animal.
I don't even want to question this situation because the Lord did protect Kyli, being so close to the road and with the unknown out there I pray for their protection all the time. Some may think its silly but they are our babies but could you imagine the 'conversation' between those two when Kyli ran up on the coyote? I'm so thankful she decided to run instead of picking a fight! She seriously thinks she is Doberman.
When I got almost to work I realized I had forgotten about the clicker and it was probably in the yard somewhere. Which it was. Found at Point C.
This morning, Tracie's friend and his son, set up a call and was ready and waiting for it, and more, to make its appearance. No such luck. I hope they are trying again tonight. Supposedly they make there way out in the evening and early morning.
I just want it to be safe for our puppies and us to be outside without worry and for the 3 Amigos to roam free again. They haven't had to be put on a leash in forever and they are not liking it!

Now that everything is over with I would like to see a replay of how crazy I was being. If anyone would have been outside they would have gotten show!! By the time I got back to the house, I realized my robe had come undone in the midst of the craziness! Thankfully, no one was around and all were spared!

We Were Those People Last Night...

Walking into Ninja for a sushi date 25 minutes before they closed.. the last souls in the restaurant leaving as we sat down. We totally questioned ourselves and whether or not we should get up and just leave. I mean we were getting some pretty nasty looks. I guess we just completely lost track of time before we left the house and wasn't paying attention to what time it was.

We ended up staying and INHALED our food. I could have inhaled some more sushi but we decided against adding to our order.
It was soooooo delicious tho!! Amidst us rushing, Coach and I had some pretty good conversation and I felt like we had some time to reconnect. This is such a busy time for him.
And you know what??
After I thought about it.. it wasn't like we walked in FIVE minutes before they closed... we are DEFINITELY not THOSE people.

Weekending // A weekend to myself

Linking up today for the first time with B Loved Boston for Weekending.

This has been one relaxing, crafting fun one if I do say so myself! I ended up having Friday off, Friday the 13th treated me well, which NEVER happens so I got busy doing something I find myself saying I wish I could do more often.. craft and DIY projects for a WHOLE WEEKEND. Needless to say I haven't fixed my hair or put on a stitch of makeup since Thursday and THAT my friends has been wonderful.
I'm in for a rude awakening tomorrow morning.

This rainbow was beautiful Thursday night when I was leaving work.. Kind of like a , WHOO HOOO you have a four day weekend let's celebrate moment.

Considering I have zero green thumb and don't read up on any kind of flowers except hydrangeas, I could not tell you what this was but it it beautiful when it blooms.

And I had a little fun playing around with my camera.

If you are following along on Instagram, you probably already got a view of these fresh veggies from Connie's garden. The cucumbers were SOOOO yummy on my salad the other night! Can't wait to see the eggplant grow!

I hope all the fathers out there had a Happy Father's Day.
Here is me and my Dad in December of 1984 the best I could tell from the back of the picture.

One of my projects this weekend included tinting mason jars. They are almost ready to cure in the oven so if they turn out right you may just see a tutorial! It was fun making them anyway...

I got to hang out with these precious puppies all weekend! They play so hard but not for very long because it was sooo stinkin' hot outside!

I got to work on these pallets that have been in our yard since before our wedding. You can check out more of these flag pallets in this post

I LOVE they way they turned out!

Working outside I got to see some beautiful sunsets. One of my very favorite things. They can be so breathtaking.

Coach finally made it home late last night from their tournaments in Statesboro. I have him aaaaallll to myself this week and I am SOO EXCITED!!
Maybe I'll even get a HOT date out of him one night. hee hee

Stars + Stripes .. Flag Pallet

These pallets have been sitting in our yard since before our wedding. I had a vision that stacked up boxed crates would hold our wedding gifts. Problem is was, I didn't get the right ones. Silly me where was my head? Oh I know!! It was going in 9239488457 different directions hindering me from thinking correctly.
So what do you do with them?

You add some red, white, and blue paint to have your very own flag for some festive yard decor.

flag pallet

Of course, Kyli has to always be nosey and be in the middle of everything that you are doing. She likes to think that no one can see her while she is doing it.. but she is highly mistaken. We'll just let her keep thinking this tho. I don't wanna hurt her feelings.

Let me zoom in on that last frame...

#sorryimnotsorry I think it's hilarious.
Kilz, paint, paint, a little tape, more paint, sweat dripping in your eyes, and an achy, breaking back later, your flag is ready for some stars!

flag pallet

After I realized the one on the right didn't have an odd number of boards to end in the color red, I just decided I would make this one ours for the front porch.

Oh yes, Mara was the last dog standing sitting by the end of the day. Sox and Kyli decided they had enough of the heat and stayed in the AC. Can't say I blame them.

My suggestion for you guys is to buy a sponge, cut it in the shape of a star and be done with it. I was too lazy to get in my car to drive myself to the dollar store to get one, so I got started with a detailed paint brush.

As you probably see there are a couple that need a little TLC.
UPDATE: They are fixed.

When you are finished with your stars,
Use sand paper or a sanding block to remove any painting mistakes...

... And then get it to your front porch or wherever you choose to proudly show these colors!

The wreath was made last year and you can check out that tutorial here.

My MIL, AIL (aunt in law), and myself are participating in a church craft fair at the end of the month and the other pallets will be going in the booth. I'm hoping they sell to make a little cash for our Annual Hopper Girl's Savannah trip!

Are you crafting anything for the 4th?
Feel free to share.. I would love to hear what you are making!
