Two Year Anniversary Date

Coach brought to my attention that for the last two years we have been out of town. Honeymoon and our One Year Ann trip. He asked me how did it feel to be at home for the first time and my response? "Oh you know I could go to the beach anytime!" But seriously, it was nice being home and we took it pretty easy all day and it was laid back.

I thought maybe we would go to Atlanta or somewhere we had never gone before, but after talking we decided that taking it back to where our First three dates were is where we needed to go.. P.F. Changs.
Love Coach's goofy face! Ha!
We LOVE this place!

And of course, who can leave without having that heavenly Great Wall of Chocolate??! Not us! And we were blessed with getting it F-R-E-E because our server said we were not high maintenance at all.. he shared with us that the hostess had a wreck on the way to work (she was not harmed) and all the servers were having to seat their own tables, had no clue what they were doing, and that was making it a little hectic.

Well, Happy Anniversary to us!

Sassafras Annual Christmas Bazaar

Last year, Sassafras Salon held its first Christmas Bazaar and we had our second one again Saturday.
Robbie had a vision of having more vendors and even outside for a more festival-like feel. When we had our monthly meeting, Santa, Frozen's Elsa and more came to mind... and well, we ALL think it went pretty good!
We had a fire pit for roasting marshmallows, BBQ, apple cider, hot chocolate, tons of hand crafted items, Santa, Elsa, and a variety of vendors to buy from!

I didn't get as much pictures as I did last year because I was in charge of taking pics of Santa with the kids.

We have such an awesome team at the Sassafras that helps pull this together!
Can't wait for next year!

Santa Clause Wine Bottle // Tutorial

santa wine bottles diy

As y'all have read, I found something similar to this on Pinterest and was pretty bummed when there wasn't a tutorial. Thank goodness for a little bit of my crafty skills and being able to somewhat duplicate!

You will need:

bottles
twine
gloss red spray paint
matte black spray paint
glitter spray paint
self stick gems
craft clear crystal rhinestones (I found mine at Hobby Lobby)
glue gun/glue sticks
painters tape
fabric glue
bells

1.
I began with soaking all the bottles for easy removal of the labels and then dried them.
Spray your bottles with red gloss spray paint. I applied several times.

 2.
Follow that with the glitter spray paint.
You can add as little or as much as you want to. I would suggest after every couple of sprays to shake the bottle again. You will notice not much will come out if you don't.

3.
Allright. On the original that I found, I could NOT tell what the black 'belt' was made of.. sooo I looked in all my stuff and found some painters tape and I had just happened to have black metallics paint for another project.
I thought it worked pretty good!

Take off the tape after the black dries.. it won't take the red or the glitter!

4.
Next, I glued on the twine with the Crafter's fabric glue.
You have to be a little patient with getting it started but once you get the first piece glued you are good to go! You don't have to apply glue to the whole section either.. once you get it started you are OK just to apply every couple of wraps.
And don't worry about the glue that shows.. it dries clear and you will never see it!

5.
I found these stick on gems at Michael's and just eye-balled the placement. Be sure to get them as close to where you want them.. if you try and move them the sticky will come off the back and they aren't any good anymore.

6.
Next, I glued the clear crystals on with a dab of glue from the glue gun.

Finish your project with glueing on the bells at the top and you have your very own Santa bottles!

Hope this tutorial helps and have fun making them!
Both of these sold this week at the salon before the Christmas Bazaar and the same lady who bought them has asked for two more.. whoo hoo!!

P.S. If you have a better idea come to mind for the black please share

A Christmas Bazaar is near...

Last year at the salon, we held our first annual Christmas Bazaar. There were tons of crafts, refreshments, and fun fellowship.
We are coming near to our second one being held this Saturday and boy is getting crunch time!!
I have been working on crafts nonstop EVERY night for I don't know how long.

Here are a few of the items that I have made the past few weeks and there may be a few more to come! I had every intention of getting y'all the Santa tutorial and it may still be here for tomorrow or Saturday but between work and getting things prepared for Saturday it hasn't happened.
I am sooo sorry and I promise I will try my best to get it out tomorrow or Saturday!

Have a great night y'all!

Happy 2 Year Anniversary to the One Whom My Soul Loves

Time flies when you are having fun!
We certainly cannot complain about this past year.. I promise it seems it only continues to get better and better. Sure we have our moments but what is important is that we have learned and GROWN from those hard times. God has certainly blessed us and I pray for His continuing guidance and covering over our marriage.

Get ready for picture overload!
I even took a few out because I thought it was too much. Ha. I wasn't quite sure this session was going to happen this weekend as planned but YAY it did! My longtime friend Stacey (introduction post coming) has picked up photography as a hobby and I am SO beyond THRILLED with how these turned out. They captured everything I pictured and wanted and more!

Shane, thank you so much for all the wonderful memories this past year.. TWO down and many more to come.. WHOO HOO! Thank you so much for all the fun, laughter, and love that you give. I look forward to many more precious moments and what God has in store for us!
I love you to infinity and back!
