What have I been up to?

Wow oh WOW has it been a couple of busy weeks. Last week and the week before I put in a ton of hours at the salon, tried to be a good wifey and keep the house and laundry up in the little time I was home, and in between get some workouts in. That always makes me feel so much better even when I don't feel like doing it. Once I get there I am SO GLAD I went!
I was so thrilled to see Friday night get here, and now once again, the weekend has flown by and here it is Monday.
C'est la vie.

So what else has kept me busy this weekend?
Well, if you follow me on Instagram, you have already seen that I have been doing a little crafting. There is a reason behind all this madness.
My MIL, Connie, and her sister, Judy, are very creative, crafty, artsy, whichever word you like best, and have been wanting to host a little something with tons of goodies that we have made, and may I add made with tons of love.. SO Connie has come up with naming this something a Christmas Bazaar! I think it's absolutely perfect, especially, with all of us loving to go all out on the decor for Christmas and it's one of our favorite holidays.

We have all been trying to come up with a place for the Bazaar to be held, and in the midst of that, I had mentioned it to the owner of the salon that I work at now. Robbie is also super talented and is always coming up with some pretty awesome stuff. He also does flowers and decor for weddings and may I say that his work is absolutely amazing! He immediately loved the idea and invited Connie and Judy to come over to the salon to chat more about this, last Thursday to be exact, and well I think everything is pretty much on! We will slowly start adding and decorating the salon and then have a Grand Opening weekend.

Saturday and Sunday I went over to Connie's Mom's house where she, Judy, and I met up for some craft time. Here are some of the things we have made so far.

Made by Yours Truly..
Go Dawgs!

LOVE this heart! Made by Connie.
Rosette Wreath by Connie.

I also wrapped this vase in this gorgeous colored yarn!
There is so much more in store for the Bazaar..
I feel like this is the beginning of something that could be more and we are ALL so excited!

While we were all together I captured this video. I think it is the sweetest thing. I learned that Grandma LOVES to hear Judy play the piano!

Last Saturday I got to ride this healthy boiiyyyy! And can you believe the vet said that he was a little over weight?? He has come such a long way!! It was so much fun, I got a little more comfortable with him, I was able to command him on my own and him listen, and I even enjoyed a little gallop he had going on. BUT I will say after that SPRINT back to the barn, I decided that was enough riding for me that day.

Here are all the spoiled little big babies.
Trio, Chester, and Snuggles

Within the last week, the tractor broke down, the axle on the lawn mower broke, our coffee pot went out, we need a little work done on the roof, and my curling iron broke in the middle of me curling a head FULL of hair.

Let me just say, WE DON'T NEED ANYTHING ELSE BREAKING!!!
OKKKAAAYYYY???

The part came in and finally getting it fixed! Coach took it for a bush hogging session as soon as him and his Dad sharpened the blades!

Trio and Chester and I spy someone else trying to sneak off into the pasture.

There goes Mara.

These pears are growing in our backyard and there are TONS of them!! I am searching for a recipe to try and make something yummy!

A plane taking off... we live just a bit away from the county airport.

Mara and Sox constantly play around this bush. They are hilarious and I have GOT to get it on video.

It possibly may have been a little too hot to continue for too long...

Little Mini Pin!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and Monday!

Lots of Love to ya!

Thoughts...

How do you all do it?
How do you manage to do your everyday things and still find the time to sit down and blog? Ever since Danielle encouraged me to start a blog, to document all of our engagement and wedding fun, I have absolutely loved this new found outlet. In the past, I used to scrapbook but lets face it.. after a while life begins to happen and it's so hard to find the time to get everything out, develop pictures, cut out construction paper, glue, cut out more paper, and well.. you get the point. It's been fun to go back and read old posts and see moments of our lives documented. It's also been great meeting new people and gaining readers -that would want to read about lil ol' me and what's going on in my world?? Thank you to each and every one of you! It has truly been exciting for me!

These days I think I have become so overwhelmed with life. I am truly blessed to be where I am today-- being healthy, having a wonderful clientele and business, working with absolutely the best people, being blessed with the artsy gift, having a great family, our 3 Amigos, getting a horse I didn't even ask for that just happens to be fully trained!, and last but not least, getting married to one amazing man.
Right now I honestly feel like I am all over the place. Here lately I find myself not even being able to concentrate because my mind is in 200 different directions. And my procrastination is absolutely ridic right now. I have not even gone and changed my license yet or even ordered checks with my new name.. and guess what?? I'm out of checks!! I have never felt like this, so scatter brained, and it's really starting to get to me. I feel like things that should've been done a long time ago are crashing down on top of me.

And back to blogging.. what I would really love to be able to do.. is wake up, sip on a cup of coffee, and write.
I don't know when or if that will ever happen, but it sounds good to me.

Something else that sounds good to me is being back in Jamaica.. on the beach.. with my Boo. That's where I would really love to be right now. And since that's not gonna happen right this second either, I will just leave you with a picture from our Honeymoon.

Lots of Love,
Ash

Pumpkin Cookies for Pups

Saturday my BFF Amber came over with one of her awesome kiddos, Sass, and as soon as they walked in the door they treated the 3 Amigos with some homemade treats.
They loved them!

This isn't the recipe the pups got but this is another she found and shared with me. You can find it, originally from here, along with a few others that are healthy for pups.

I didn't have anything doggie cookie cutter so I opted for a candy cane..

Hey, who says you can't have Christmas in July??
I think the Pups certainly thought Christmas Day was here!

You will need:

2 1/2 cups brown rice flour
2 tablespoons flax seed meal
2 extra large eggs, lightly beaten
3/4 cup canned pumpkin puree
1/4 cup cold water or enough to make dough stick

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
Combine brown rice flour and flax meal in a large bowl. Mix eggs and pumpkin together in a separate bowl until smooth. Add pumpkin mixture to brown rice mixture in two parts, stirring with a wooden spoon or spatula. Add water slowly. Use your hands to pull the dough together.

Roll dough out between two pieces of waxed or parchment paper to desired thickness. (about 1/4" thick.) Remove top piece of waxed/parchment paper, flip dough onto brown rice floured counter, remove top piece, and then cut biscuits using desired cookie cutter. Re-roll and cut scraps until you’ve used every possible bit of dough.

Place biscuits on parchment lined baking sheets (or lightly greased with oil). If using a dog bone shaped cutter, gently press down, wiggle a little, then lift out.

Bake for 30 to 45 minutes, until the top of the biscuit has dried out completely. Let biscuits cool on wire racks.
Somebody knows exactly where the goods are at!

Store in an airtight container.

Makes 36 large dog biscuits

Sox and Mara finally joined me and Kyli in the kitchen!

It didn't take long for them to cool. The 3 Amigos absolutely LOVED them and Mama love's that she knows exactly what is in them! Coach and I aren't the only ones eating healthy around here.

Hope your furr babies love them just as much as the 3 Amigos!

Lots of Love!

Louisville Part II

If you missed Part I of Louisville go check it out now!

I had mentioned on Sunday we finally made it to the Kentucky Horse Park and it ended up being a beautiful day for us. After we finished there, we headed back to the house so that we could pick up Uncle Jack and him take us to see where Churchill downs was located. Of course it wasn't open but you could see a part of the track and at least we got to see some of it.

These church shots below we taken by just holding the camera at an angle and hoping for the best. We were driving during all of these. I forgot I had the zoom in on the first one but thought they all turned out pretty cool considering!! I am praying for some free time soon to teach myself some things with this camera!

We then drove over the Ohio River and into Indiana to visit the largest fossil bed that is there...

Unfortunately, because of all the rain, they were completely covered in water.

These rocks that lined the sidewalk were taken from the fossil bed..

Railroad Bridge.

These columns mark the Indiana line.
Once we crossed back over I HAD to give this place a visit!!

LOUISVILLE SLUGGER!!

I was so excited to send Coach that picture.. He and I need to go back for a visit and tour the place.

Uncle Jack took us by where he retired from... KFC.. he was a director there. His office was on the back side but Aunt Kay wanted to show us the front. She said it reminded her of the White House.

Besides me loving how Aunt Kay and Uncle Jack made you feel SUPER welcome, and like you were right at home, I also fell in love with all of her pictures. Being a picture fanatic I just loved looking at all of them!

This is their brother Pat. He passed away at 16 from an automobile accident. I think in the picture on the right he and Mama Jane look alike.

This is their Mom and Dad.

And this is the whole family.. 3 girls and 1 boy.. Aunt Gwen, Uncle Pat, Mama Jane, and Aunt Kay.

Mama Jane!

The second night, Aunt Kay brought out the family albums.. It was so much fun looking thru all of the old pictures. I just love the way they look and so much history in them.

Mama Jane holding my Aunt Tammy and Papa Simon holding my Mom. He passed away when I was 3 from cancer. I have heard several stories about him and how he was a goof ball! I think someone has even told me he was voted Class Clown. I also think my cousin Ty favors him here and Mama Jane says he has a lot of Papa Simon in him!
DO YOU AGREE OR DISAGREE?

Aunt Kay.

This is my Aunt but I feel like I am looking at myself here!

Aunt Kay and Uncle Jack's house was absolutely beautiful. This is one of my favorite sections of the house. I love the way she has this little nook decorated. In the lower right side corner you can see where the staircase begins. My room was upstairs so I got to admire this little nook quite often.

This cabinet below is of all of her Derby glasses. As you can see there are quite a few!

The year I was born.

Some other places we got to see on Friday on the way to Bardstown. The open land and pastures are absolutely gorgeous there.

This is a school.. Really?? I would suffocate from no windows.

I hope to get back there again sooner than later! It was definitely lots of fun and the rain never slowed us down once!

Lots of Love!
