Gettin' ready for a Weddin'!

We are still getting in prep mode for our BIG DAY in November!!

I think I was so excited when Coach proposed that I didn't waste ANY time starting to get things done!

Since Coach has finished up his summer season, (he is a travel baseball coach), we had a fun little "date" day and decided to go pick out tuxes!

Actually, my day started with getting my pearly whites taken care of.. Anybody else hate going to the dentist??

I feel like I am going in for surgery EVERY time..

But I SURVIVED!

CHEEEEEEEESSEEEE!!!!

We decided on Chili's for a late lunch.. I sure did hate to eat after I just had my teeth cleaned but this chick was hungry!

(snuck one in)

Anyhoo, we set out on our little tux seeking excursion..

I know it's probably weird to some people taking pictures of EVERY moment but when we are old and have nothing else to do we can have fun and look back at these fun times!

While Coach was getting measured, I couldn't help but to notice the RED, BLACK, WHITE, AND SILVER!!

You know what that means!!

FOOTBALL SEASON is just around the corner!!

Go DAWGS!!

I think I have subconsciously been thinking about it because some how over the last couple of weeks, I have managed to find myself grabbing black, red, and white attire out of my closet!

In Texas -- Danielle spotted a salon chair.. Not sure if you can see it real well but it was pretty cool!

I did have on black sandals and black bracelets!

Guess I'm getting ready to root on the Dawgs!!

We even looked at rings for him today too so I could get an idea of what he likes and we stopped in at Menchies for the first time to enjoy some yogurt..

Boy was it GOOD!!

Coach started cutting the pasture down too..

It is seriously so peaceful out here on the 'farm'..

He even left these yellow wild flowers!

And of course Coach loves having his yard cut down and the hedges trimmed just so..

He does such a great job and it cracks me up when the lines cut into the grass are just like a baseball field.

Wedding day is approaching fast! 109 Days!

Cookout and A Baked Bean Disaster

Let me just start out by saying that I am NOT the World's Best Cook.

I seriously have probably 3 dishes and a pasta salad that I can cook pretty well. Coach is probably getting tired of those few staple dishes. As a matter of fact, I know he would love for me to learn how to be a "Southern" cook.

Embarrassing for me to say I have even caught the stove on fire before just trying to BOIL WATER..

Sshhhh... Don't tell anyone I let you in on that.

SO, having friends over for dinner makes me a wee bit nervous because I don't feel like I have the "timing" down just so or does the menu "compliment" everything well too.

I HAVE to have a recipe to follow too.. there is no dash of this here and a dash of that there... My grandmother even got me a cookbook for Christmas a few years back called::

It has honestly been a huge help.

But despite ALL of the above.. The Jackson's joined us for a little cookout last night!

Amber, Savanna, Ben, and Claire

LOVE this family..

Ben actually grew up with Coach and I met Amber several years ago! Coach was actually at Amber and Ben's house one night when she was telling him she was going to get her hair done that week. Coach asked her who she was going to see and she replied, "Ashley".. "I knew you were going to say that!", he said.

Now, where was I.. earlier that week I had found some great recipes to go along with our BBQ Chicken.

 I found

Mediterranean Stuffed Tomatoes..
Zucchini Boats..

And I had a baked bean recipe..

This baked bean recipe has me scarred for life. Keep in mind here that I am branching out here for our cookout and trying something new.

But SERIOUSLY who could mess up BAKED BEANS??!!

Uuumm, that would be Yours Truly.

I started these in the oven before the arrival of my company because it called for them to bake for 3 hours. After this came out of the oven..

..Amber informs me that is a pretty long time. I had no clue. Remember when I said I follow recipes to a T? I mean this stuff was BURNT onto the sides of my dish. I really thought there was NO hope to get this dish back to its original condition. (and fyi I took them out of the oven before its 3 hours was up.. they were SMELLING crispy)

dried. crispy. burnt. beans.

LUCKILY, we didn't have to make a 911 grocery store run because THANK THE LORD I had an extra can in the pantry, AND being the AWESOME friend Amber is she got the new batch up and going in no time! WHOOP WHOOP!

I am going to start taking lessons from her, and in the process we are going to YouTube those kitchen shenanigans and then you will see her on the Food Network Channel! I, however, will not be in charge of any type of bean making.

(We didn't let the guys in on that little mishap til the very end.. But Coach was wondering why I got backed up in the kitchen with getting the rest out of the oven on time.. HA!!)

These veggies were super yummy and they are organic from my friends garden!

Don't forget dessert!!!
I made us the Ultimate Margarita Pie! (from the 5 Ing Recipe Cookbook!)
Check out my 'shoe' pie cutter too! A girl can never have too many!!

Savanna and Kylee
(she loved all the attention)

Here is The Ultimate Margarita Pie recipe::

You need:

1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
2 packages dry margarita mix
2/3 C sugar
1 (8oz) carton frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (9 in) gragam cracker crust

Beat cream cheese until fluffy. Combine cream cheese, marg mix, and sugar; mix until smooth.
Gently fold in whipped topping. Spread into crust, and freeze until ready to serve.

You can garnish with lime slices or sprinkle a few crushed pretzels on top.

SO YUMMY AND SUPER EASY!!!!

Remember when you are in the kitchen and you don't feel like you have done your best, think of my poor baked beans AND my mortifying moment when I caught the stove on fire trying to.. yes.. I will say it again.. boil water!!!

More from TEXAS!

WOW, Texas was a HOT one!

And that is an understatement! When I walked outside leaving the airport that heat wave slapped me right in the face!

But man did we have sooo much fun! I was going through my phone tonight and realized I had more pics on my camera card too!

Scripture Sunday's!

Welcome to

Scripture Sunday's!

I was sitting at the place where I get my car detailed and the oil changed yesterday, and of course my brain was going in 100 different directions..

Blogging is one of the things that came across my mind because I am REALLY enjoying it! Like I have mentioned before, I had made a WordPress years ago and never did anything with it, (I think because the format was too difficult), and then my friend Danielle told me how awesome it was for her to record all the things that were going on with her engagement and wedding and that you could even make a book of all your blogs.

Sooo, here I am today, blogging about mine and Coach's adventure being an engaged couple and things that are apart of our daily lives.

I was thinking about all the cool posts that people blog about like "Thankful Thursday's" and thought how neat it would be for me to do Scripture Sunday's

As I have gone through trials in my life, and even when I just want to praise Him, it is comforting for me to turn to the Word.

Something probably only a handful of people know about is my battle with anxiety and panic attacks that started a couple of years ago. I can honestly stand here today and say that my Great Physician has healed me from that and I praise Him for it. (For people who have experienced panic attacks they are NOT fun!! I do not wish them on anyone!!)

One of my favorite scriptures that I still turn to is

Phillipians 4:6
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

I do not even speak the word anxiety to myself because I am not going to speak that back over me. But I do still "worry" about things from time to time.. Like "Am I going to get this done by this deadline" or "how am I going to get X done".. Who DOESN'T worry in this world these days?

What I have to remember is that God is in control and He always provides. He shows me this time and time again, and I just need to learn to trust Him! He knows EXACTLY what I need!

Over the past couple of weeks, I have heard scripture quoted by other people that I have never heard before. I LOVE hearing it because I feel like it is helping me grow in my relationship with Him. I even have an app on my iPhone that gives a Verse of the Day which is really awesome.  I can even search by a word and it will bring up every verse that has that word in it.

When this came to my mind I thought how awesome it would be for you to share your favorite verse or what verse you have came across that is new to you!

I would love for you to share and learn more myself, so feel free to post your favorite verse in a comment.

Until next week for another Scripture Sunday~

Door Decor

Ooops, I have done it again..

And what you ask? I found myself on Pinterest... again..

Coach and I decided that we needed a new look for the front door....

This was the final product--

I'm not trying to steal any one's idea so my inspiration came from this picture here:

All you need is the following:

* glue gun
*tissue paper
*styrofoam ring

You cut the tissue paper into rectangles of 5x7, twist them at the bottom to make a point..

The instructions said that you could use a knife to make small holes in the Styrofoam to place the pointed end into.. I seriously had a knife sharpener out of my kitchen set.. it was honestly the perfect "hole punch" size and the easiest thing to use.. it's OK to get creative up in da house...

All I did was slightly punch a hole in it, fill it up with glue, and stick the tissue into it.

I didn't want mine all one color.. and I already had ALL the items except for the Styrofoam ring!

The darkest purple color is actually artificial flowers that I had.. I cut half the stem off and stuck them in the ring.. SUPER EASY!!

Next Door Decor will probably be something all white and WEDDING INSPIRED since it's coming up FAST!!

Puppy Update!

Do remember this precious pup that came wandering up my driveway?

WELP.. He just recently got adopted!

YAAAYYY!!!

You can read more about the story RIGHT HERE.

He is absolutely PRECIOUS!!

I got the honor of going and visiting Mr. Grizzly at his foster home.. I must say Mrs. Tamela (and my FAVORITE Pawtroplis trainer EVER!) has taught this young fellow just right!

He is soo sweet!

So glad I got to see him again!

Isn't he handsome fellow?

Let me give you a kiss!

This seems to be his signature pose!

Absolutely, the sweetest pup ever. Can't you tell that by his smile?

If you find a puppy or a puppy finds you, remember there are NO KILL shelters you can take them to and there are people out there looking for a companion! Please don't give up on helping it find a LOVING HOME!!! They will love you for it!
