At the end of August beginning of September, Coach and several of the Team Elite coaches were invited to New York for an invitational tournament. They were invited by the New York Mets for the Metropolitan Baseball Classic. They pulled kids from the program to make one team and they were off to Long Island!
Friday, they had a pretty early morning, starting with a 6:45AM bus ride to the MCU Park, located in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn. This is the home field for Brooklyn Cyclones- the minor league affiliate of the Mets.

Here they took batting practice and played their first game against the Orlando Scorpions.
Team Elite won!
After the win, they took it back to the hotel to get ready for Dinner at Citi Field. How exciting for these players and coaches to be having dinner inside a major league field!
Saturday morning was a little easier with a 10AM bus ride to Hofstra.
Game 2 against the Long Island Titans.
And TE wins again!!
This win takes them to Game 3 against the Texas Mets for the championship..
at Citi Field!
I can just imagine the excitement coming from all the young kids getting to play where the pros do.
And they WIN!!
Congrats to the Team Elite coaches and players!

That is amazing! What an opportunity. When my hubs worked for the OKC Redhawks (Houston Astros affiliate)had high school teams play there in the spring.
